Veteran’s Appreciation Fair & Freedom 250 Celebration – June 26, 2026 | Boise VA Medical Center

This month, the Boise VA Medical Center is throwing a party — and every veteran in the Treasure Valley is invited. The Veteran’s Appreciation Fair & Freedom 250 Celebration takes place on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Boise VA Medical Center, 500 W. Fort Street, Boise, ID 83702.

It is free. It is family friendly. And it sounds like a really good time.

What Is This Event?

The Veteran’s Appreciation Fair is an annual event hosted by the Boise VA Medical Center to celebrate and connect with the veterans they serve. This year, the fair gets an extra layer of meaning — it is also a Freedom 250 Celebration, marking America’s 250th anniversary of independence.

It is the VA’s way of saying thank you. Not just for your service, but for who you are — as a veteran, as a member of this community, and as someone who answered the call when your country needed you.

What to Expect

This is not your average resource fair. The Boise VA has packed this two-hour event with plenty of fun for veterans and their families:

  • Representatives from veteran organizations — connect with DAV Idaho, VFW, American Legion, and other groups that serve Idaho veterans
  • Dunk tank — we will leave the details to your imagination
  • Live music — enjoy live entertainment during the event
  • Lawn games — fun for the whole family
  • BBQ food — free food at a VA event? Yes, really
  • Prizes — giveaways throughout the event
  • And more!

A Great Chance to Connect

One of the most valuable things about an event like this is the chance to sit down — face to face — with representatives from veteran organizations who can answer your questions, help you understand your benefits, and connect you with resources you may not have known existed.

Whether you have a VA claim question, want to learn about DAV transportation services, are curious about joining a local chapter, or just want to know what is available to you as an Idaho veteran, this is the place to get answers.

Bring the Family

This event is family friendly — so bring your spouse, your kids, your grandkids, and anyone else who has been part of your military journey. The lawn games, live music, and food make it a fun outing for everyone, not just the veteran in the family.

Military families carry the weight of service too, and the VA wants to celebrate all of you.
