About Homeless Veterans Fellowship

The Homeless Veterans Fellowship (HVF) is a dedicated non-profit organization based in Ogden, Utah. Our mission is to provide comprehensive services to address homelessness among veterans, ensuring they receive the support and resources they need to rebuild their lives.

Services Offered

1. Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF)

Our grant-funded program, SSVF, aims to offer a range of services designed to prevent and end homelessness for veteran families. Here’s what we provide:

  • Rapid Rehousing: Helping veterans quickly exit homelessness through housing searches, application assistance, landlord communication, rent negotiations, and lease reviews.
  • Homeless Prevention: Assisting veterans in maintaining their current housing or finding new housing before they become homeless. This includes landlord communication, needs assessments, housing stability plans, and rent catch-up strategies.
  • Shallow Subsidy: Providing up to 24 months of rental subsidy, covering up to 50% of the base rent for veterans who can consistently pay the remaining 50%. This allows veterans to stabilize their housing while they work to increase their income.

Eligibility for SSVF

To qualify for SSVF, veterans must meet the following criteria:

  • Veteran Family: The individual must either be a veteran or a member of a family where the head of household or their spouse is a veteran.
  • Low-Income Household: The household income must not exceed 80% of the area median income.
  • Homeless or At Risk of Homelessness: The veteran must either be currently homeless or at risk of becoming homeless without assistance.

Our Impact

Through the comprehensive services offered by HVF, we have been able to make a significant impact on the lives of many veterans and their families. By addressing the root causes of homelessness and providing targeted support, we help veterans achieve long-term stability and self-sufficiency.
