Johnson was declared missing in action and presumed killed on December 2, 1950, at the young age of 24. For his acts of valor, he was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor in 1954.

This unveiling ceremony is not only a tribute to Sgt. Johnson but also an opportunity for the community to come together and honor all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.

Sgt. James E.
