Boise, ID – November 16, 2023 – It was an afternoon of gratitude and community spirit at the Golden Corral in Boise, as the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Idaho gathered to celebrate a significant achievement in their Military Appreciation Fundraiser.
The event, hosted by Adriana Jimenez, the General Manager of Golden Corral Boise, saw a remarkable gathering of distinguished guests and committed community members. Among them were DAV-Idaho Commander W.D. ‘Bill’ Oehler, Golden Corral Committee Chairman 2023/24 Freddie White, DAV-Idaho Treasurer Ron Tolman, and Golden Corral Representative Fred. Wayne Del Mitchel, the Golden Corral Boise Chairman for 2023, was also in attendance, playing a pivotal role in the afternoons success.
The event not only highlighted the collaborative spirit between Golden Corral and the DAV Idaho but also underscored the generosity of the citizens of Ada County. Through the dedicated efforts of all involved, a remarkable $7,600 was raised for the Military Appreciation Funds, a testament to the community’s unwavering support for our veterans.
As the afternoon unfolded, stories of courage, sacrifice, and resilience were shared, reminding everyone of the invaluable contributions our servicemen and women make to our nation. The funds raised will go a long way in supporting various initiatives aimed at helping veterans and their families.

The DAV National 2024 Mid-Winter Conference, originally scheduled for February 25-28, 2024, has been rescheduled to take place from March 7-9, 2024. This rescheduling comes as a result of Congress not being in session during the initially planned dates. The DAV organization has taken this unprecedented step to ensure that dedicated members and supporters have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with their elected officials while Congress is in session.

The inaugural Eastern Idaho Joining Forces meeting is set to take place on Friday, February 2, at 9:00 a.m. in the Learning Center at State Hospital South, located at 700 E. Alice St, Blackfoot.
