In a heartwarming initiative to support our troops, the Treasure Valley Chapter (ID3) of Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc., is organizing a care package drive for the 101st Airborne Division. The aim is to send 74 identical care packages to support a member’s son in the division, who is bravely serving our country overseas. These packages will be distributed among his team to help them cope with the harsh cold weather conditions they are currently facing.
This effort requires the community’s support. The organization has set up an Amazon wish list containing specific items requested by the soldiers. These items have been carefully selected to meet their needs and bring comfort during their deployment. To contribute, supporters are encouraged to purchase items directly from this list.
In addition to the items, monetary donations are also being accepted. These funds will be used to purchase specific food and snack items just before the packing event, ensuring that the packages are filled with fresh and desirable contents.
The box packing event is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, February 13th. The exact date and details will be confirmed and communicated soon. This event is not just about sending supplies; it’s a gesture of solidarity and appreciation for the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women.
You can find the Amazon wish list on the Treasure Valley Blue Star Mothers’ Facebook page: Treasure Valley Blue Star Mothers (TVBSMA) – ID3. The flyer for the event, complete with a QR code linking directly to the wish list, is also available.
We encourage everyone to spread the word about this initiative. It’s a wonderful opportunity to show our troops how much their service and sacrifices are appreciated by the community.
