Join the Marine Corps League in Celebrating the 249th Marine Corps Birthday

The Steven D. Merrell Detachment #698 of the Marine Corps League in Pocatello, Idaho, invites you to join them in celebrating the 249th Birthday of the United States Marine Corps. This special event will take place on Sunday, November 10, 2024, and will be an evening of camaraderie, honor, and remembrance for the brave men and women who have served as U.S. Marines.

  • Time: 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM (1730 – 2130)
  • Location: The Purpose Center, 224 N Main St, Pocatello, Idaho

Agenda for the Evening

The evening will be filled with activities designed to honor the traditions of the Marine Corps:

  • 1730 – 1830: Social Hour (No-Host Bar)
  • 1830 – 1900: Ceremony & Program
  • 1915 – 2015: Dinner catered by The Yellowstone
  • 2015 – End: Raffle and 50/50 drawing

This celebration is open to Marines, MCL Associate Members, FMF Corpsmen, Chaplains, and their families. All are welcome to join in this special birthday event!

Dress Code

Military members and veterans are encouraged to wear their formal uniform or mess dress. Civilians are requested to wear formal or semi-casual attire. No matter what you wear, the most important thing is to come and join the celebration of the Marine Corps’ legacy.

Ticket Information

Tickets are available for:

  • $40 per individual or $80 per couple (Payment is made at the door, but reservations are required)
  • No charge for widows of Marines, FMF Corpsmen, and Chaplains

Note: Reservations must be made by Thursday, November 2, 2024.

Meal Choices

The dinner will feature a buffet with:

  • Beef Brisket or Smoked Chicken (please specify your choice during RSVP)
  • House Salad, Dinner Rolls, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Macaroni & Cheese, Green Beans
  • Birthday Cake

A vegetarian option is also available upon request during registration.
